I fell in love with running in my 30’s… for a long time it was a solo adventure. In fact, my very first race was the Dublin Marathon in 2005 – and almost no one knew I was going. I was not trained, and had no idea what I was getting myself into. It took me 7 hours and 59 minutes to finish the race… and my recovery was brutal. I swore I would never run again.
In January 2018 I ran my 25th, and last (for now), Marathon. I have learned so much along the way, but it is not a solo effort anymore! I have fallen in love with the sport, but even more so, the communities inside of it. I am a proud Marathon Maniac # 9106 and Half Fanatic #4681… (Double Agent #711) and run most frequently with my Orlando family chapter of Black Girls Run.
Running allows me to explore our beautiful country, and travel the world. Seeing a city by foot, watching the changing landscape of its streets and neighborhoods, is unmatched in my opinion. I hope to continue this journey of exploration for many years to come.
